Creative Writers' Evening

English Language and literature is proud to celebrate the many creative writers who have obtained English degrees from UW. On February 27, 2011, a few of these writes gathered at THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener to read from their work for an audience that included alumni, retired and current professors, and fans.

The evening featured UW English alumni authors Christine Fischer Guy (BA 1989, MA 1990), Carrie Snyder (BA 1997) and Marcy Italiano (BA 1996), and Dr. Sarah Tolmie.

Christine Fischer Guy (BA 1989, MA 1990) reading from her novel in progress.

Carrie Snyder (BA 1997), author of Hair Hat, reads a new short story from her forthcoming collection.

Second-year student Emily Fraser-Jeffries, recipient of the 2010-11 English Society Creative Writing Award for Prose, reads her winning short story The Death of Ingmar Bergman.

Dr. Sarah Tolmie, whose first novel will be published later this year, reads from a new work in progress.
