An Evening with David Morrell

On January 27th, 2011, in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the University of Waterloo's English Department, the UW and SJU English Language and Literature Departments hosted alumnus David Morrell on the St. Jerome's University campus at the University of Waterloo. Despite the frosty winter temperatures Siegfried Hall was filed with people who came to hear Dr. Morrell talk about his experiences as a student at St. Jerome's in the 1960s, his subsequent move to the United States to attend graduate school, the early experiences that informed his writing and his decision to become a creative writer full time.

Perhaps best known for writing the novel, First Blood, that spawned the Rambo film series starring Sylvester Stallone, Dr. Morrell is a prolific author and popular speaker, having published more than thirty novels and nonfiction works.
