Alumna Lauri Middleton (age 5) and her father in front of the Dana Porter Library in 1966/1967. Nearly 20 years later, Lauri would earn her BA (1985) and MA (1988) in English from the University of Waterloo.

"Who knew I'd return so often, slogging away on yet another thesis, on floors that didn't exist back then?" says Lauri, who is currently enrolled in a distance education program through St. Francis Xavier University.
