Professor Paul Beam (left) and Professor Murray McArthur (center) at the Writing Awards celebration on March 28, 1989. Dr. Beam graduated from UW in 1964 with a BA in English and later returned in 1966 as a faculty member. Dr. McArthur was the Undergraduate Officer of the English Department from 1993-1996 and the Chair of the English Department from 1996-2004.
